Me: alamak… *panik sekejap* jgn dulu surut, nnt dulu hehehee…. (got few things yg blm settle lagi ni aduh… especially pasal rmh tu)

Actually, I dunno if am ready to deliver or not, yet… Sometimes I got confused when people (especially PA  supervisor sa) asked me “ko ok ka ni ti?”…. then when I told people tht am now in my 37th weeks, everyone will surprise and said, “waaaaa, tunggu hari sdh ko ni…” hhhmmmm… and everybody (in the office especially) wondered… “aiiii ko msh dtg kerja lagi?!”“mami masih driving lagi?!”…. heheeeee… ada lg yg blh2 tegur, “ai, ko belum meletup lagi?!” and everytime I bumped into our Pengarah, can see his eyes on my baby bump. Maybe dia pun wondering jg tu kan, “ada lagi dia ni…” nasib baik dia tia ckp “God bless u Siti” ahakss… he did said tht to me, once, sometime ago… :)

Last night, after buka puasa, hubby asked me, “ada lagi yg sayang mo makan sebelum bersalin ka?” And I was like… hhhmmm ada ka ya?

Me: Abg Adie, org dlm pantang blh makan tat nenas ka? (I was thinking of our tart nenas yg d booking tu mcm nda dpt jak… )

Hubby: nda tau…

Then I remembered my conversation with my friend, Sofia, yesterday. I was asking her where to get a good pasta in town and she suggested d KK Times Square. There’s a restaurant call Rumors ka? hhmmm lbh kurang gitu la nmnya… I was thinking of cooking the dish but, knowing the taste I will get if am cooking it myself, so I decided to look some where else and maybe I will go to KK Times Square. I always refer to Sof or Sal for a good western menu, since they are the expert (I, myself, claimed tht heheheee).

Me: Abg Adie, Ma mau mkn pasta! ^-^v

Hubby: ok.

o ya, in a mean time… mo kasi sedap2 hati, I went thru my fav site again… :)

September 6th, 2010Placenta previa

Salam Ramadhan and hellowwww everyone :)

Times passed by so quick, and am now in my 37 weeks of pregnancy. Gosh… am officially ‘menunggu hari’ sdh ni kan hehehe… cool, cool, cool… *cross finger* ;) hopefully everything’s going to be perfectly fine for me n baby. Too many things came up lately. All need to be settle before I go for a long holiday. My thesis is progressing slowly but in control heee… but am not so fond of the way ums postgraduate centre do their job… uuummhhhh… they mistakenly double charge my fees and now hv to prepare letter to claim the money back. Before tht, they mistakenly registered me as a full time student which am not. Because of tht, me and my supervisor received a letter of reminder saying I have to present my proposal defense ASAP. I already explained the matter to my supervisor and everything is back on track again, except my claim.

ehhhh… wait, hhmmm I thought the title is placenta previa??? so what’s with me mumbling about my master degree???? sorry, my bad heeee… well, apa pun hope I can settle all the matters before I go for my maternity leave. Talking about my pregnancy, according to the doctor, me n baby are perfectly fine. Am still driving myself to the office, and alhamdulillah… baby’s not complaining, so far. O ya, so just u guys know, during my seventh months checked-up, doc said something about low lying placenta. Of course I don’t hv any idea what it was, but since am still in my early third trimester, the doc said it was ok. But I did a little research on the matter, and this is what I found….

What is placenta previa?

If you have placenta previa, it means that your placenta is lying unusually low in your uterus, next to or covering your cervix. The placenta is the pancake-shaped organ — normally located near the top of the uterus — that supplies your baby with nutrients through the umbilical cord.

Placenta previa is not usually a problem early in pregnancy. But if it persists into later pregnancy, it can cause bleeding, which may require you to deliver early and can lead to other complications. If you have placenta previa when it’s time to deliver your baby, you’ll need to have a c-section.

If the placenta covers the cervix completely, it’s called a complete or total previa. If it’s right on the border of the cervix, it’s called a marginal previa. (You may also hear the term “partial previa,” which refers to a placenta that covers part of the cervical opening once the cervix starts to dilate.) If the edge of the placenta is within 2 centimeters of the cervix but not bordering it, it’s called a low-lying placenta. The location of your placenta will be checked during your midpregnancy ultrasound exam.

Mine was marginal placenta previa. Lucky me, the placenta back to normal (where it was suppose to be) after a month later and hopefully it stays tht way till the final months. But, how does this happen? or should I say, what cause placenta previa? Well, according to babycenter.com, the reasons are as follows;
•  You had placenta previa in a previous pregnancy.

•  You’re pregnant with twins or higher-order multiples.

•  You’ve had c-sections before. (The more c-sections you’ve had, the higher the risk.)

•  You’ve had some other uterine surgery (such as a D&C or fibroid removal).

•  You’re a cigarette smoker.

•  You use cocaine.

So, to all mommies-to-be and those who planning for pregnancy after this, this is one of the matter you should look up to. Till my next post, to all my Muslims blogger friends, enjoy your raya holiday. Same goes to rest of u… bah, jemputla ke rumah raya ni ya ^-^v

August 26th, 2010Durian and pregnancy

Durian ooooo durian heheheee….. gosh I LOVE durian so much!!!  \^O^/ I remembered during Ramadhan a few years back, I was at my hometown and at tht time my bro from Japan came to celebrate raya with us. And knowing tht both of us like durians so much, my mama bought us lots of durians, so buka puasa durian, sahur pun makan durian jg heheheee…

Photo courtesy of uncle google :)

Some says durian is not safe for pregnant lady and hubby always remind me to control myself everytime I get near to durian hehehee… panas, he said. But so far, I don’t hv any problem eating durian as long as I consumed a lot of plain water after eating the king of the fruit.

To make sure tht am well-informed about eating durian during pregnancy, I searched thru my fav site and found this article.

“It is true that some Asian communities maintain a taboo against eating durians in pregnancy. For example, in the Chinese traditional approach to well-being, durians are believed to be too “heaty” to be eaten in pregnancy. As such, many ethnic Chinese communities in Southeast Asia advise their mothers-to-be to avoid this king of fruits.

Strictly speaking, there have been no studies about the safety of eating durians in pregnancy. At the same time, modern science has not uncovered any reason to believe it is unsafe to do so. There is certainly no reason to conclude that eating durians in pregnancy can cause high blood pressure or nappy rash in newborns.

However, a pregnant woman should eat durians in moderation as the fruit contains large amounts of sugar and carbohydrates – two medium sized seeds have about 60 calories. Durians are considered a high-glycaemic food so it is best to limit your intake of durian in pregnancy. Those with gestational diabetes should avoid eating durians because of its high sugar content.

Some researchers have highlighted the benefits of organo-sulphur and tryptophan in durians. These compounds have antioxidant effects. They also have anti-microbial, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties which may benefit pregnancy.”

Well, I guess it depends on the person opinion la kan. As long as we can control the amount of durian intake, and at the same time drink a lot of plain water, should be no problem.

What ever the reasons are, durian will always be my fav one besides rambutan ;) o ya, to all durian lovers out there, have  u tested durian swiss roll and durian pancake? Well, I know one place that offer the best durian swiss roll and pancake. For those who staying around KK, there’s one bakery shop at Damai called Uncle Biscuit, they sell a swiss rolls and pancakes with original durian fillings. Sadaaaaapppppp….. The best in town so far. :)

August 12th, 2010Ante-natal class ~ Part 1

Salams and hellowww peeps :)

As I promised, here are some photos taken during ante-natal class tht me n hubby attended at Hospital Likas, last month. Nothing much to chat about it, just let the photos speaks ;)

Forgot her name, but she was the first presenter. She was talking about delivery stages and how to cope with the pain before delivery.

3rd presenter, talking about breastfeed… **I kinda lost the 2nd presenter heheheee…

Mrs. Goh, she helped a lot… from the first day I registered the class till the end.

ah ha!!! the most exciting moment. We, the first time parents, given a chance to learn how to bath the newborn. Looks easy, but you’ll never know till u experience it yourself…. with the real baby. I remembered my first experience bathing my nephew and o ya, my friend’s newborn. It was kinda difficult especially if the baby won’t stay still.

Done with the bath :)

Spotted this boy… he was paying attention to the nurse whose giving a talk on breastfeed… wonder what was on his mind?? hhmmm :)

there will be part 2… and am excited to share it with u all \^O^/  am still editing the photos. will post it, soon ya!!

Salam and hellowwwwwww :)

hhhmmm time did passed by so quickly, I can’t still imagine tht am in my 33 weeks now. About 7 weeks to go and Ramadhan is around the corner, which am looking forward to experience my pregnancy during the fasting month. Feels like tears in my eyes just by thinking of it. It’s not because am worry about the consequences but I am relieve tht I got another chance to get close to HIM, Alhamdulillah… BTW, I still owe u a post on ‘low placenta’ article and I still keep some photos on my ante-natal class. I have to hold it first because I need to attend another class tomorrow and will combine the posts together before I post it here in my blog. Really want to share the experience and knowledge tht I gain for the past 8 months :) So, be patient my dearies….

I learn a new thing today by clicking my fav site, and would love to share with all mommies-to-be. Let’s learn A-B-C!! ^-^v

A-Z of natural pain relief

Here’s an A to Z of ideas to help you cope with pain and feel in control of your labour:

A: ask for information: the more you know, the more relaxed you’ll feel;
B: breathe rhythmically, and relax as you breathe out;
C: cuddle your husband or birth companion;
D: drink sips of water in between contractions;
E: eat carbohydrate-rich foods when you feel hungry;
F: fan yourself with a small electric fan;
G: groan and moan: this is the one time you can throw modesty aside as making a noise is a great form of pain relief!;
H: hold your husband’s hand;
I: imagine your baby moving down through your pelvis with every contraction;
J: joke with your husband; keep things in perspective!;
K: kisses (from your husband, Mum, sister, friend);
L: listen to music to help you relax;
M: move around to make yourself as comfortable as possible;
N: nestle down in a large pile of pillows or a huge bean bag (you may have to ask the hospital to provide extra pillows or bring your own);
O: open your pelvis as wide as possible to help your baby be born, eg: kneel on one leg with the other out to the side;
P: think positively: ‘Each contraction brings me closer to the birth of my baby’;
Q: question what you don’t understand; being frightened will make the pain worse;
R: rock your pelvis round and round and back and forwards with each contraction;
S: sigh out gently with every breath;
T: trust your body: you do know how to give birth!;
U: understand the treatment being offered; if you understand, you can cooperate and make things easier;
V: visit the toilet regularly; a full bladder will slow your labour;
W: walk around to ease aches and pains and bring on contractions;
X: more kisses!;
Y: yell, loud and long, and then try to get back into a good breathing pattern;
Z: zzzzzzz: doze off in between contractions.

Many thanks to babycenter.com for the greatest info!!

:)   fuhhh… this week kinda hectic for me coz the class started oready and for this semester, am teaching Business Ethics (duiii… beretika ka?). so, no more corporate comm. I’ve been tutoring the subject for two semesters, and my supervisor thought tht was enough and it’s time to change the subject. As for me, ikut jak la… it’s fun to see my students again and yg pntg duit masyuk every month kan and blh bayar hutang2 ^-^

eh… mcm lari sdh dr tajuk d atas tu tau… the post is actually about my hubby… heheheee…. we were at Hospital Likas, again, last Saturday, attended the Father Friendly class. Basically, ceramah seja bah during the class and no more exercises. And knowing my hubby, in a cold, boring, seminar room… imagine la how will he react kan. I gave him the camera and ask to take pictures of the penceramah and the slides. And since next month is Minggu Susu Ibu so, we’ve been asked to answer a quiz and all the answers is in the slides. Thought he manage to take all, but in the end, I went and asked the nurse for the answer instead hehehee…

let see what else he got…. hhhmmmm….

I remember this one… this was the baby tht been given to us and i refused to hold, at first. But in the end, I hv to jg because of the practical (will share it in my next post ya).

these last six photos… ketaraaaaa la bah boring tu kan heheheee…

July 10th, 2010am in 29th weeks now…

Salams n hi everyone :)

am entering my third trimester and I hv about 11 weeks (plus minus) more to go. This is how the baby is suppose to look like heheheee… (photo courtesy of babycenter.com)

And some people says, when u are in ur 7 months, it’s quite critical and u hv to take care of yourself very very careful.  If u are not lucky enough, u can experience a pre-mature birth… try hard not to fall, some said to me. And the most important thing is, when u r 29 weeks pregnant, u need to double up all the nutritional needs for ur baby. Means tht I hv to consume food tht contains protein, calsium, iron, vitamin C and folic acid more than usual.

In addition, Ramadhan is around the corner and I decided to do my fasting even though am pregnant. But hv to make sure I don’t skip my sahur. Can’t wait for fasting month, dunno why but am so excited!! :D Hopefully I can cope up with all the mess (wake up early to prepare sahur), and survive the whole month, insya Allah… heeee

And I already plan to put oats, whole meal bread, cereals on my menu during fasting month because that’s the only way to keep me going during the month. And of course, nasi, meat, and all nutritional food is oso on the menu. The easiest way to prepare one meal with all the vitamins and minerals tht I need for my energy source and oso to keep the baby fed is by eating cereals with a full cream milk and anmum materna. Sometimes I drink hot horlicks because it contains iron and folic acid.

Nestle’ fitness cereal? I know, some of u might think tht why I chose this type of cereals. It’s for people who is on diet??!!

nop, it’s not…. It is definitely suitable for pregnant lady oso because it contains all the vitamins and minerals tht I need. See, it contains 450 mg calcium and a lot of folic acid. During third trimester, about 200 mg calcium is deposited in baby’s bones. So, if am consume the cereal everyday, it should covered my baby’s need and oso myself heeeee ^-^v so, this is so gonna be in my menu for sahur…

To add the ‘spice’ up, I ate it with Dutch Lady full cream milk… oso high in protein and calcium, good enough for my baby and me for a day.

Dutch Lady full cream milk

Hot horlicks oso a good source of calcium and iron… ;)

** o ya, for Muslims, if u r pregnant and fasting, u r advice to take a light meal during berbuka instead of heavy meal. Let ur tummy rest for about two hours (paling sesuai lepas solat sunat terawih) then u can have ur heavy meal, makan nasi and lauk pauk… and don’t forget to drink a glass of hot milk during sahur and berbuka :)

**hhmmm can’t wait for my next review next week, 13th July. and another appointment with the doctor on 28th July, which worries me a bit… last time appointment, doctor diagnosed me with ‘placenta low’ and if it gets serious it will be a placenta preavia. I’ve been keeping a post about placenta preavia in my draft. had to make sure about my condition first (after 28th la ya) then I can reveal it in my blog what it is all about. So, do pray for me n baby and keep on coming for more interesting pearly stories ya… till next post everyone,  wanna take my afternoon nap now… jelousnya tgk hubby and Meme’ sleeping soundly… mendung2 lagi ni… uuuwaaarrrghhhhh…. heeeeee   ^-^v

July 6th, 2010Ante-natal class

Last two weeks I went to ante-natal class at Likas Hospital wif hubby. But before tht, I have to register  a week early to book a date and the nurse who in charge reminded me to bring along small pillow and a mat (yoga mat or what ever you are comfortable with) buat apa pulak bantal n mat???

When the day came, we woke up early, had our breakfast, shower, bersiap semua then went to the hospital. The class was suppose to start at 8.45am but the nurse only turned up at 9am… ok la, forgive and forget. Since this is our first time coming to the class, so they took us for a tour around the hospital especially the gyne clinic and ward. Do you know that Hospital Likas got about 23 rooms (six patients per room) for normal ward and the patient come and go every hour. Me and hubby was like whoa!!! mcmn la km ni nnt… they got only 4 rooms for first class and a few rooms for 2nd class (which is 2 person per room). And it’s a first come first serve basis, you cannot book early (for 1st and 2nd class), because the booking only opens during your delivery. Berabut la ni taw… And all rooms mostly occupied  everyday, as I said patience come n go…. No wonder sometimes you can see pregnant moms sleeping on the floor (of course with mattress and pillow etc.) but imagine there’s not enough bed to sleep, and you hv to sleep on the floor. Mcm tension jgk tu kan, but some people can stand the situation, as long as they can deliver the baby safely.

Anw, forget about tht… we decided to think of the situation when my time comes. So, for time being, just act normal and be happy for the baby’s sake. If u asking me where I want to deliver the baby, I would prefer government. Yup, me and hubby have decided to go for government hospital. It’s not tht we don’t consider the private but after heard a stories from friend, and reading friend’s blog, most of them suggested government. Lgpun, klu ada emergency (in case la kan) the private will send you to government hospital. But then we have to berabut for at least 2nd class punya ward la kan, in case 1st class tu full hehehee ;)

So, the ante-natal class went out smoothly… we did enjoy it. Basically the class was handled by three psychiatrist and they thought us on how to handle our stress, showed us light exercises tht we can practice at home whenever we experience back ache or muscle cramp (oooooooooo no wonder la mo mat n bantal, ada senaman pulak….). No photos taken since we were bz doing the routine heeeee… Our next class is on the 17th July, where they will give a talk on how to handle newborn baby, they also going to teach on how to nurse the baby (breastfeed la ni kan) and more. Hubby will be joining the class oso since he’s going to be by my side during delivery, insya Allah…

The class took about more than two hours. Before we went home, there was refreshment and each one of us went home with a small goodies….

yup, the maternity toothpaste and stretch mark cream… i did tried both of the product. And I like the toothpaste coz it does not cause any tooth decay or sensitive gums… tau la klu pregnant ni gigi pun jd sensitive. so, I really reccomend the product and safe for the mom n the baby. Do u know, some toothpaste product contains too much fluoride tht can harm ur baby??? Haven’t done any research (googled) on this, better do it next time kan.

The stretch mark cream, I used it for a few times and it was oso a good product. But a friend recommended me  butter cream. So, I went to gurdian the other day and bought this body butter. I love the product because it contains natural ingredient such as oats and soya. It’s smells good and quite cheap oso, I bought this for RM12.00.

O ya…. am excited to tell u all that after the class, me and hubby went to Parkson to do a personal shopping for my friend. Now, I know why she loves being personal shopper (PS) so much!! It feels great!! ;) why??? because you can get yourself a chance to try the product and get free sample heheheee… My friend asked me to buy her Lancome BB Base cream. And I know only one place to get the thing which is Parkson. Dunno why, but ever since am pregnant, I love wondering around at Parkson, especially the baby and kitchen area :) and I personally think it’s cheaper compare to Metrojaya Suria KK.

UV expert GN shield with SPF 50 PA+++

I haven’t ask my friend how the product was… hopefully she can gain her baby skin back because she used to have a smooth baby skin back then :)

samples tht I got from Lancome SA… :D

***hhhmmm

(I was like, man…. dorang tau smpi spf30 jak kali aaa…)

hubby: tny nnt c pia, lepas dia pki bertukar jd Brooke Shield ka dia?

me: aaaaaa???? knp pulak?

hubby: ya la, dia pki Lancome kan…

me: apa kaitan sm Brooke Shiled?

hubby: dia pun pakai Lancome kan

hubby: ya ba… lm sdh tu
